Saturday Workshop: Narrative Voice

Editors and agents always say they’re looking for writers with a unique voice. Let’s develop your distinctive storytelling voice. It begins with point of view and tense, but there’s SO much more, especially by bringing in your personality and passions.

This one-day workshop will help you explore writing in different narrative voices to find what works for you and your story. Through exercises that will stretch the imagination and deepen your craft, you’ll leave with a better approach to captivating readers.

The class will be a warm and supportive environment where you can grow and take risks. Bring a page from your current story so we can see what you’re currently doing with your narrative voice. There will be lots of opportunities for individual feedback and exploratory writing.

The workshop will be held at John’s house on the banks of the lovely Eno River near downtown Hillsborough. A healthy lunch and snacks will be provided. $120 (8 students max)

To save your spot, contact John. Spots will fill quickly.
